As a project manager for Thompson and Brown Custom Builders I am in charge of every aspect to deliver high-end custom residential homes on-time and on-budget. I work hand-in-hand with estimators, installers, homeowners, and building inspectors throughout the project to ensure expectations are met and exceeded.

As a construction project maker for A’n’A Builders I was in charge of bidding, quoting, scheduling, budgeting, and delivering multiple custom residential homes. I was on-site at each job everyday and handled every step throughout the project.

As a barista at Starbucks I handle customers at every step in their experience. I make sure that customers are ordering items that they will enjoy, craft their beverages and food with care, and assure that their experience was positive throughout. In addition, I listen and understand customer issues and make sure they are resolved before they leave.

In my final summer working in the facility engineering group at Kroger, I was put in charge of two more projects, both having budgets of over $5 million. This summer I was put in charge of ordering all of the items I would need to complete the project including construction supplies and equipment. I had many of the same roles as the previous summer with the addition of training a new intern to help him learn how to make the schedules, run meetings, and make sure everyone involved in the project was up to date.

Working as a team member at Chipotle I had many different roles. I started working the food line where I interacted with costumers, handled food, and made sure everyone received fresh food. I was eventually moved to work in the grill area preparing food. This role taught me how to manage my time wisely as I usually had to be doing 3 or 4 things at once, it also taught me how to make decisions deliberately and in an order that was logical.

In my second summer with Kroger, working in the facility engineering group, my role was increased and I was given more responsibility within the company. I was put in charge of two projects that started in early May and would end in early September. These two projects both had budgets exceeding $5 million in total. I put together schedules, ran the site meetings, updated my superintendents with information, and made sure everything was arriving and being completed when it was needed.

As an intern in the facility engineering group at Kroger, I spent my first summer shadowing other project managers, learning how to start, run, and complete a construction job. This job taught me how to manage my time wisely, how to make a realistic schedule and make sure that it was followed, and it taught me how to be a leader to those around me.
