About Chase Tourney

I enlisted in the Marine Corps in 2007 where I was trained to be an Aviation Safety Equipment Mechanic on the F/A-18 Hornet aircraft. I gained qualifications including Collateral Duty Inspector, Collateral Duty Quality Assurance Representative, Engine Turn-up operator, and Supervisor over 30 junior Marines. I deployed multiple times to 10 different countries. I gained valuable leadership skills such as communication, time and personnel management, decisiveness, and decision making. In 2016, I performed an MOS Lateral Move to the F-35 aircraft. I was assigned to VMX-1 at Edwards AFB. During my time at VMX, I helped complete Initial Operation Test and Evaluation for the F-35. I served as the Quality Assurance Chief overseeing all of the QA personnel in the maintenance department. I was formally trained in Aircraft Corrosion Control, Aircraft Weight and Balance, Maintenance Control, Lean Six Sigma, and Ground Safety/OSHA standards. I have excelled as a supervisor of junior Marines and aircraft maintenance. I have become well-cultured during my travels around the world with Marine Corps. I naturally focus on process improvement, quality control, and safety of people and equipment. I am interested in pursuing a career in aircraft maintenance management. I am highly trained in the areas of inspecting/auditing, safety, and process improvement. I am eager, dedicated, and enthusiastic about any work that I do. I am open to new lessons and training. I am confident that with my skills, education, and experience combined, I can be a great asset to any team.
