About Chas Hoppe

Anyone can write a book. No, really. All you have to do is practice two things: 1. Show up every day.2. Be willing to write badly (at first). That might sound simple, but that doesn't make it easy. In fact, the reason that thought leaders collaborate with creatives like me—whether for ghostwriting, book coaching, or editing—is that these two practices are pretty hard. After all, who has time to write a book when the sock drawer needs organizing? And how can you possibly be willing to write badly when you just know that your high school English teacher is still out there somewhere, silently judging every misplaced semicolon? And here's the other challenge: Experts don't like feeling dumb. You could be an absolute titan in your field—the best of the very best. You could have an amazing story of triumph over tragedy. You could have stumbled onto a groundbreaking new idea that will soon light the world on fire (or, ideally, maybe cool it off a little). In so many ways you could be an expert in your field, a master of your domain, a maverick thinker ready to turn an industry on its head. But that doesn't mean you're an expert at writing a book. That's where I come in. Since 2014, I've ghostwritten over 40 books—including Wall Street Journal, USA Today, and Amazon best-sellers. I coached hundreds of authors as they navigated their own writing journey. And I've helped develop, doctor, and edit countless other books. Each project is like a masterclass for an audience of one. Sure, I may help the authors write, develop, or polish their ideas, but the raw material never comes from me. It comes from your lived experiences and expertise. All I do is listen, sort, and make it sound good—and, of course, sound like you. And at the end of the journey, you don't just have a book, you have a key—to new opportunities, new audiences, new clients. There's a reason people hold authors in such high regard: writing a book is hard work. Sure, anyone can do it, but most people don't.That's why it's so important to have an experienced collaborator at your side. Someone who's been there, done that. Someone who knows where the hazards are and can guide you around them. Someone who once ate 100 burritos in a single year. Okay, that last one might not be relevant. But it could be—depends on what book you're writing. So, what book are you writing? If you need a guide, let's talk.

At Cape & Cowl Media, not only do we know how to make damn good nonfiction books, but we also have a damn good time doing it. After all, anyone can toss off a few ideas and publish their book online. But what’s the fun in that? Your book isn’t just a book. It’s a record of your lifetime body of work. It’s a living document filled with your unique perspective and experience. It’s a gateway to new career paths, product ideas, and business opportunities. It’s a timeless representation of what makes you, well, YOU.That's right: your book matters. Which means writing it shouldn’t be a chore. It should be an adventure.Of course, like all good adventures, a great book doesn’t magically appear overnight. It takes care and attention. It takes an expert hand to draw out your best ideas and show your readers why they matter. Above all, it takes absolute commitment to create the best book you can create. This is your hero’s journey. For those brave enough to take it, the rewards can be tremendous. Authors we have worked with have:🔝 Become Wall Street Journal, USA Today, and Amazon best-sellers,💰Generated six- and seven-figure business opportunities directly attributable to their book, 📖 Secured book deals with major publishers,📈 Sold thousands of copies and earned thousands of Amazon reviews, andMore importantly, these books have greatly impacted their readers’ lives—creating smarter people and building stronger communities.
