Joined as a systems engineer to support to the Federal Aviation Administration’s (FAA) Terminal Planning group. Support focused on developing conceptual, planning, and requirements documents for the Terminal Flight Data Manager (TFDM) as the concept matured through the FAA’s acquisition life-cycle. Served as my company’s internal team lead for up to 4 employees working on the project.Key contributions:● Enterprise Architecture: Led and supported the integration efforts between the TFDM system, the Time-Based Flow Management (TBFM) system, and the Traffic Flow Management System (TFMS), also known as the 3T systems. Identified potential operational requirements by completing Operational Event-Trace Diagrams (OV-6C) for “As-Is” and “To-Be” operational scenarios. Developed a System Functionality Description (SV-4) to depict allocation of 3T functions related to National Airspace System (NAS) traffic flow management.● Requirements Development: Derived program, interface, and system specification level requirements necessary for 3T integration. Developed Web Service Requirements Documents (WSRDs) for publish-subscribe and request-response, cloud-based services in compliance with FAA standards.● Systems Engineering: Generated a detailed Reliability, Maintainability, and Availability (RMA) analysis that resulted in performance requirements for the TFDM system. Produced a Concept of Operations (ConOps) describing operational needs and improvements in the exchange of flight data between Air Traffic Control Tower (ATCT) and Terminal Radar Approach Control (TRACON) controllers.● Project Management: Delivered reports monthly for various project milestones. Created project schedules and identified project deliverables. Led internal meetings as well as meetings with the customer to review technical work and to solicit new contract opportunities. Developed Rough Order of Magnitude (ROM) cost estimates for new tasks. Assisted in writing proposals and project task plans.

Hired as a systems engineer to support General Dynamics and the Naval Undersea Warfare Center (NUWC) on the Weapon Control System (WCS) for the AN/BYG-1 Combat Control submarine project.
