I've spent much of my working life as a theatre practitioner, writer, and artist. Teaching and research have played an important part in my work, because they allow me to keep in touch with new ideas and experiences that are so important for the evolution of the creative process. I relocated to Europe because European cooperation and integration are essential if the countries that make up the rich, varied tapestry at the heart of our continent's civilisation are to go forward together. I settled in France, because as a founder member of the European Union, it is at the crossroads for the transmission of art, culture, and new ideas that fertilise exchanges between northern countries and those of the Mediterranean basin. After 9 months in Toulouse, spent visiting neighbouring departments in search of premises suitable for a cultural project to be set up in a rural location, I relocated to the Tarn department. There, I discovered a medieval château, the Château de Linardié, that needed to be restored and given a new lease of life.Bringing this Château back to life involved the physical restoration of the Château and the establishment of an Association to run its activities. I started work on the Château 8 January 1996. The Association Culturelle du Château de Linardié was declared 6 November 1996.Gaillac, the Tarn Department and the Midi-Pyrénées Region supported Linardié as it went from strength to strength, employing administrative personnel and an Artistic Director. The Association collaborated with the University of Toulouse Le Mirail, Department of Fine & Applied Arts, who contributed to Linardié’s artistic policy.I'm seeking finance to set up an Arts, Science and Technology Residence and Exhibition centre in a historic building in SW France and have created AASNouTec as the vehicle to do this. The AASNouTec Project (below) gives more info about it as well as Linardié at my Website.Specialties: Theatre : Director, Actor, Set designer, Lighting and Sound designer -Contemporary Art : Project leader and co-ordinator - Centre Manager and Director - Exhibition OrganiserI am a member of the International Society for the Arts, Sciences and Technology (ISAST), publisher of the Leonardo Journal, and of the Long Now Foundation in San Francisco, California, that fosters long-term thinking through Art, Science and Technology.
