Involved in major scale rewrites of two of the applications in the product suite to support the application to cater to Tier-1 clients. The rewrites resolved the existing bottlenecks and drawbacks in the existing legacy architecture designs, as well as introduced new technologies and architectural enhancements to increase the performance and scalability of these applications. The rewrite also handled localization and web accessibility aspects.Involved in practicing and introducing the C4 architecture diagramming model in to the software development discipline within the company. In this period, we introduced a new Single-Page application to the existing product suite, which caters to appointment booking at bank branches. Involved in the project from requirement discussions to reviewing and revising the architecture, and implementation of major features of the application. Joined a recently initiated project which is a revamp of an existing application in the US banking industry. The application caters to collecting and analyzing branch statistics from US banks and calculating various performance matrices. It also forecasts the employee need and schedule employees in to different time slots to meet the need. The project is built on ASP.NET Web Forms, C#.NET, .NET Entity Framework 4 and SQL Server 2008.

Mentored a team who competed for Code with WIE organized by the IEEE WIE Sri Lankan chapter. The team proposed a timely solution to combat healthcare and community issues related to Covid-19 and won the 2nd runners up position in the Grand Finale.

Mentored a team who competed for Code with WIE organized by the IEEE WIE chapter of Sri Lanka. The team which presented a unique and innovative solution to a rarely looked at health disorder - which was backed by substantial amount of medical and technical research won the 1st place in the grand finale.

Was a developer attached to the Global Technology Office (GTO) - a corporate functional group which involves the software delivery process. The main role of GTO is to develop/use tools to calculate certain matrices and measures to ensure the quality of the deliverable as per Virtusa standards, as well as the global standards. These tools perform analysis of source code on various measure such as Build Stability, Style Defects, Code complexity, comment ratio, test coverage, etc… in Java and .NET projects. My contribution during the GTO tenure are as follows: • Involved in the development of JSPLineCounter - a tool to count the number of logical & physical lines in JSP, HTML files & counts on different types of tags and statements (e.g.: JSP tags, HTML tags, JavaScript tags, HTML statements, JSP statements). • Created an ANT task to integrate jsLink4Java analysis with the build process. • Common Detail Reporting (CDR) tool transforms the XML reports generated by Findbugs, CheckStyle, Fx-Cop and PMD tools to a document with uniform XML schema. I was assigned to address a memory issue and fix it, as well as to unit test the tool, which achieved a 85% unit test coverage. Also developed a new parser to develop the PMD report. • CruiseControl is an Open Source framework for automating the software build process. The CruiseControl in integrated with plug-in for sending e-mail notifications on build failure/success, ANT scripts and other source control tools, and it provides a web interface for monitoring the current build process and build history. Installed and configured the CuriseControl dashboard to integrate with SVN and automated the build process for all projects in SVN.Learning Experience:• Programming with Eclipse (Virclipse) IDE• Unit testing with JUnit• Writing Build Scripts with ANT• Writing custom ANT tasks• Using a Sub-Version system• Following Design Patterns • Reviewing others’ code and understanding them.
