Joseph Osuigwe is a human rights advocate, social entrepreneur, and author with over 12 years of experience in the human rights field and educational sector.During his National Youth Service in 2013, he initiated a groundbreaking community development project aimed at training over 2000 students and teachers across five communities in combating human trafficking and provided educational support. This project received an award from the Federal Capital Territory and later evolved into the establishment of Devatop Centre for Africa Development, a human rights organization officially incorporated in 2016.As the visionary founder of TALKAM Human Rights Initiative, Joseph drives a transformative civic tech initiative that harnesses innovative technologies like the TALKAM App to catalyze actions towards the promotion and protection of human rights in Africa. He is the initiator of The Academy for Prevention of Human Trafficking and Other Related Matters (TAPHOM). In 2018, he was selected by the U.S Government for an International Visitors Leadership Program focusing on anti-trafficking efforts in the United States.He has served as a technical advisor to European Union-funded project (The Action Against Trafficking in Persons and Smuggling of Migrants in Nigeria)As the Executive Director of Devatop Centre for Africa Development, Joseph has worked with his creative team to propel the organization to the forefront of civic-tech utilization in human rights advocacy.
