I am currently working at Silverwood school (https://www.silverwood.wilts.sch.uk) in rural Wiltshire, the South of England. It is a SEN school. Working here has opened a lot of opportunities for me. I work with incredible children by supporting them in their learning. I also support them emotionally and socially by encouraging social skills to develop. Working here has allowed me to be first aid trained and epilepsy trained in using buccal diazepam.I do an intervention (this is the process of intervening with a child’s future problem, identifying a problem, sorting out a intervention plan and then discussing it with the child in order to stop the problem happening) once a week for a group of children in teaching them on how to be safe and about the aspects of puberty. I also teach the classes when the teacher is absent. Before I came to this school I wasn’t very good at planning. I have learnt to build constructive, structured and challenging yet achievable lesson plans for children with special needs. This would also allow me to assist and help adults.
