I'm currently running my own roofing and cladding business. My previous employer went into liquidation and ceased trading in 2012.Finding the right job in the current industry was challenging therefore I made decision to work for myself until I could find the right position. I'm responsible for dealing with and appointing sub contractors, liaising with main contractors and clients, controlling budgets, programming, invoicing, scheduling materials, quality control, pre-start meetings, training, ensuring Health and Safety regulations are in place and keeping my books in order. It is critical each element runs smoothly to ensure all contracts are completed on time and all clients are happy with the final product.

In this role my daily tasks included:- Ensuring the roofing, cladding and sheet metal contracts were completed on time and on budget. These varied from small works to GBP 4 -GBP 5 million in value.- Daily management of staff.- Scheduling and ordering materials.- Ensuring Health and Safety standards were met. - Liaising with contractors and clients.- Staff training.- Completing risk management assessments

As Contracts Manager I was tasked with the day to day running of the built up roofing, sheet metal fabrication and shear stud welding contracts. I was responsible for the daily management of staff,ensuring Health and Safety policies were being implemented, invoicing for completed contracts, buying materials and dealing with suppliers.
