Student position part of the LSSURP Staff at the University of Minnesota Medical School, a team dedicated to the Life Sciences Summer Undergraduate Research Program (LSSURP). My position is specifically the assistant for the program coordinator. The Life Sciences Summer Undergraduate Research Program allows undergraduate students around the United States to come to the University of Minnesota and participate in a 10-week intensive research fellowship in the labs of a faculty mentor and Principal Investigator (PI). Students are placed into different research programs including Cancer Research, Education, and Training Experience (CREATE), Heart, Lung, & Blood (HLB), Dental and Craniofacial Research (MnCORE), Neural Systems Engineering (NSE), Neuroscience of Neurological Disorders and Drug Addiction (NS and NS-ADD), Neuroimaging in Cognitive Neuroscience (Cog-NS), Training Research Educators in Minnesota (TREM), Pre-MSTP, and Pharmaconeuroimmunology (PNI).
