I am a partner at Bryan & Company with a primary area of practice in labour and employment law, acting for both employers and employees in drafting and litigation work.I take the drafting of employment and other corporate documents seriously and leverage that knowledge to aid my employment and labour litigation practice. I maintain expertise in the fast-changing landscape of employment and labour law, advising on corporate transactional work within the firm. I have appeared in all levels of court Alberta and provincial and federal tribunals, such as those handling workers’ compensation, human rights, and union matters.I maintain a broader practice in civil litigation, wills and estates, and estate litigation. Additionally, my drafting background aids me in negotiating and litigating shareholders disputes and other commercial litigation.I offer a full-service practice, where I am part of my client’s team. I take pride in being a trusted advisor and am both responsive and strategic, efficiently and practically resolving current issues and helping prevent future ones.I am a sessional instructor at the University of Alberta Faculty of Law teaching Employment Law. I am a member of the Canadian Bar Association, on the executive for the North section for Labour & Employment Law, and a certified graduate of the LESA Annual Intensive Advocacy course. I am involved in several entrepreneurial groups within the Edmonton area. I provided long term services on the board of directors of ABC Head Start, a charitable organization providing educational and social services to at-risk preschool children. I regularly volunteer with Student Legal Services at the University of Alberta and other charitable legal initiatives.

Practicing mostly civil litigation with a focus on labour and employment, resolving issues through the court system, but also has experiences in alternate dispute resolution, including mediations, settlement conferences, and negotiations. Attendance at a wide range of levels of court, tribunals, and judicial review. Specialization in specific areas:• all aspects of employment law, with focus in employment agreements, terminations, Shareholder employment and disputes, and federal corporations;• WCB work, as well as all other aspects of labour law;• all areas of commercial litigation, with a focus on contractual breaches;• defamation claims; and• various family and estate work, including preparation of prenuptial and cohabitation agreements, wills, personal directives, powers of attorney, applications for probate, and applications for guardianship and trusteeship.
