What I doMy idea of impact is working to increase access to things that bring people joy, opportunity, and fulfillment. In my career, I've done that through teaching, building social impact programs, and managing grants. I'm interested in the ways organizations and companies can distribute resources, capital, and programs to improve the well-being of everyday people, but especially those from low-income backgrounds and marginalized populations. Currently, I'm a Programs Leader (Director) at Outride and Specialized Bicycle Components working to empower all people to experience the benefits of cycling. I design systems that enable our team to select grant recipients, administer those grants, support grantees in implementing their programs, manage a small team, and serve as a strategic leader.My BackgroundI'm from Fort Worth, Texas, where I grew up loving school, basketball, and culture. I studied Anthropology at the University of Texas then became a 7th grade english teacher. I spent 10 years in education before falling in love with cycling and becoming lucky enough to find a job at the intersection of those two passions.
