As a member of the Consumer Financial Protection Bureau (CFPB) Implementation Team at the U.S. Treasury Department, I led the creation of the Bureau's initial strategic and operating plans.

· Formulated the President’s Budget and ensured proper execution of approximately $90 billion in mandatory spending on means-tested asset building programs, subsidized employment programs, responsible fatherhood and marriage programs, and refundable tax credits for working individuals and families.· Conducted hearings, meetings, and negotiations with senior HHS, Treasury, Justice, and White House staff on Federal budget, policy, and management issues. Provided written recommendations and briefings on current policy issues to OMB and White House political staff.· Developed proposal for the $500 million Fatherhood, Marriage and Families Innovation Fund and secured its inclusion in the FY 2011 President’s Budget; provided analysis in support of budget proposal to reauthorize Temporary Assistance for Needy Families (TANF) and related programs that support children and families; and devised plan to strengthen HHS’ Administration on Aging’s (AoA) evaluation of wellness programs.· During 2008 Presidential transition, served as liaison to transition teams in the area of tax policy and strategies geared toward improving outcomes for low-income men and fathers.

Tracked and analyzed $20 billion in discretionary Federal spending in the Department of Justice and the Federal Trade Commission.
