Lead a team of Linux Systems Administrators/Engineers who design, implement, and operate Linux based distributed threat-detection systems focused on protecting Raytheon's infrastructure. Promote DevOps / SRE principles and practices to foster an "automation first" mentality within the team for all tasks and projects, to make systems more manageable and reliable.

Design, implement, and operate distributed Linux-based threat-detection systems. Develop software (C, Perl, Python) to extend system functionality, integrate systems with APIs, and automate system maintenance and recovery.

Analyze Netflow, SNMP, PCAP, and other network data sources for capacity planning, application performance analysis, and troubleshooting. Administer and operate Linux systems for the collection and analysis of this data. Develop and maintain scripts (Perl) to simplify and expedite analysis of large and/or complex sets of data.

Perform in-depth TCP/IP protocol analysis using tcpdump and Wireshark to troubleshoot network connectivity and performance problems. Leverage a comprehensive understanding of TCP, IP, and other protocol specifications to expose defects and inefficiencies in the network stack of EMC network storage products. Maintain an internal fork of the Wireshark open-source project, and develop custom software (C, C++) to add functionality to the application, and parse company proprietary network protocols.

Provide tier 2 technical support for Nortel's portfolio of enterprise routers and VPN concentrators. Assist customers with resolving network outages, often in very large scale enterprise environments, through methodical troubleshooting and log analysis. Reproduce product defects in a lab environment, and collaborate with development teams to resolve them.
