I work hard to advance technology in the Oil and Gas sector. I have a unique perspective that allows me to see how technology can be leveraged to create the most efficient Oil and Gas producers and service companies. I was lucky enough to spend my formative years in the field, giving me the technical vocation to provide clients with unique and approachable solutions. I am a Petroleum Engineering Technologist and my field experience has taken me throughout Western Canada, North East USA, South Texas and the Gulf Coast. This time in the field allowed me a first hand perspective into how technology takes root and how it fails. I often find myself going back to the field to test assumptions and hear about the many pain points that face our industry.Over the course of my career I have been directly responsible for field operations, software development, project management, technical engineering, sales, account management, market analysis and product development. Wearing so many hats gave me the knowledge to mitigate or minimize internal and external friction to technology. I think with some clever tricks, some lessons in social engineering and a well thought out business process, any problem is ripe for optimization and/or automation. And I have a track record to prove it. Taking a great idea into a great product takes a tremendous amount of craftsmanship. I am able to sit on top of a problem for a long period of time and keep thousands of data points in my head while I work to understand how they fit together in a better way. Over time, I'm able to learn and understand how the system interacts with both physical and digital worlds and evolves into an industry defining product. Technical Sales & Product ManagerBearstone Environmental Solutions Inc., A New West Energy Services (Nwe: Tsx-V) Company Jul 2017 - Jul 2019I joined the Bearstone team to help sell vacuum, water and environmental services to drilling rigs across the WCSB. Bearstone also had a fleet of fluid hauling trucks focused on production and completions waste in NW Alberta. I got the opportunity to learn a lot about managing a trucking business and helped develop a custom ERP system on the Salesforce platform to better manage assets and give line of sight to the business. I spent a lot of time with the dispatchers learning how and why they do what they do then helping build solutions to digitize and automate the process. -
Technical Sales - Drillsite, Area Sales Manager (Southern Region), Onsite & FiltrationNewalta Aug 2015 - Jun 2017Calgary, Alberta, CaSolids Control Account Growth – Over 15 net new accounts to Newalta. Directly responsible for $10.0M in sales since August 2015 this accounts for 62% of total revenue for division. Championed a new technology called ‘EnviroMax’ from conception through implementation in the field. TCC Performance – Increased processing volumes from 6,000MT in 2015 to 20,000MT in 2016 which doubled revenue from $1.25M in 2015 to $2.5M in 2016, by introducing Peyto, Bellatrix and ARC as new customers. Worked with new clients to establish recycled base oil market.Filtration – Able to identify a new client and provide a custom high volume filtration package to assist in a Cavern Washing application. This amounted to over $1.5M in revenue, effectively doubling the revenue / margins for the filtration group over the project timeline.Onsite – Able to identify, scope and deliver value to numerous clients in the on-site waste treatment sector. This was accomplished by understanding our business and listening for opportunities while investigating the fringe of my customers reach. Various projects amounted to nearly $2.0M in revenue in 2017.Cavern Development – Leveraged existing relationships to grow the business into the Cavern Development market. I was able to re-purpose existing equipment to answer a unique problem in the Cavern space. We formulated an offering around providing a temporary Cavern Washing equipment and operational package to complement our drill-site and filtration packages.Refinery Waste – Assisted our field sales representative in identifying, understanding and closing an opportunity to provide value to a local refinery. By working with our operations, EHS team and the Ministry of Environment, we were able to save the customer money and reduce the liability by limiting the amount and time the waste is in transport. This customer has become the top client in the region bringing in over $500K in new revenue per year. -
