As a Family Reunifcation worker, my task it to assist families with reaching goals to make sure that the children are successful reunified with their parents. Together, the Team Lead and Family Worker are responsible for reaching both concrete and therapeutic goals during our 4 month service period. This includes addressing ther reason for removal, creating safety plans, connecting the family to community resources, enrolling children in school, and making sure the family has everything they need to be successful moving forward.

During my time as an AmeriCorps volunteer, I was able to assist my team with installing home safety items, completing home safety assessments, and test for lead in the home. I was able to assist my team with leaf letting, creating block clubs and providing resources to members of the community. I was able to assist with creating safety signs for children to walk to school, volunteer for community events, and bridge the game between members of the community.

During my times as a student assistant, I was able to assistance the academic services by answering/directing phone calls to the advisory staff, completing files, directing students to their correct advisors, and supporting both students and staff with creating a positive environment for students to obtain answers and directions on their path to become educators in the future. I was able to assist the advisor with miscellaneous task such as delivering mail, creating flyers, and assisting with events hosted by the college of education.

During my times as a student caller, I was able to assist Wayne State University raise funds and build rapport with the Alumni. As a supervisor, I trained callers, monitored phone calls, and was also responsible for payroll for the employees
