As a lecturer I combine my teaching duties with research in power systems dominated by power electronics

As a postdoc researcher I participated in several industrial and competitive projects

I won a Marie Skłodowska-Curie fellowship for doctoral degree to participate in a project called MEDOW (Multi-terminal DC grid for offshore wind) .MEDOW is a Marie Curie Initial Training Network (ITN) consisting of 11 partners (5 universities and 6 industrial organisations) with collective expertise on the manufacturing, design, operation, and control of multi-terminal DC grids. I was part of Work Package 1, which dealt with the connection of offshore wind power to DC grids. During this project During this project I developed the following activities:-Modelling of Offshore Wind Power Plants connected through HVDC in PSCAD and MATLAB Simulink-Implementation of Fault-Ride Through and Frequency support in an experimental test rig that represents an Offshore Wind Power Plant connected through a Multi-terminal DC grid. The test-rig was formed by scaled-down VSCs and a Real Time Simulator.-Analysis of interlink cables between HVDC-connected Offshore Wind Power Plants to increase availability and reduce power losses of the transmission system.

I analysed the frequency containment response (primary response ) in NEMO interconnector (VSC-HVDC based) between UK and Belgium

I analysed converter control interactions with electrical resonances of an HVDC-connected Offshore Wind Power Plant.

I designed a cabinet used as a test rig of a microgrid based on VSCs.

I started in CITCEA as a student collaborating in several research projects in power systems and power electronics. I developed the following activities:-Analysis of Phase Shift Transformers to reduce overload in Spanish transmission system.-Modelling of 2-level Voltage Source Converters (VSCs) for three-phase and single-phase applications in MATLAB Simulink.-Modelling of Wind Turbines and Photovoltaic systems in MATLAB Simulink.-Design of low voltage single-phase VSC for microgrid application.-Programing of DSP for VSC control.
