I won a Marie Skłodowska-Curie fellowship for doctoral degree to participate in a project called MEDOW (Multi-terminal DC grid for offshore wind) .MEDOW is a Marie Curie Initial Training Network (ITN) consisting of 11 partners (5 universities and 6 industrial organisations) with collective expertise on the manufacturing, design, operation, and control of multi-terminal DC grids. I was part of Work Package 1, which dealt with the connection of offshore wind power to DC grids. During this project During this project I developed the following activities:-Modelling of Offshore Wind Power Plants connected through HVDC in PSCAD and MATLAB Simulink-Implementation of Fault-Ride Through and Frequency support in an experimental test rig that represents an Offshore Wind Power Plant connected through a Multi-terminal DC grid. The test-rig was formed by scaled-down VSCs and a Real Time Simulator.-Analysis of interlink cables between HVDC-connected Offshore Wind Power Plants to increase availability and reduce power losses of the transmission system.
