hint to exec recruiters: i love the intersection of software, product, customer and the product team. where ever i go i hope to build a great team that exceeds in software execution and builds great consumer products & services that show a fundamentally deep understanding of the customer and human psychology. this is the passion that has led me from working on the windows95 user interface, to redesigning the experience for msft devices starting with the ipaq to google chrome and hangouts. i hope to always build teams that share this passion for the user and working like family. i insist that the team works hard and has fun. if we do that, we can do anything.--exec recruiters: you have a hard job i could never succeed @. it's w respect and for the sake of saving you time that i be transparent about how to win contacting me. i'm not looking for a role. looking at my work history, i do not jump around. i find something exciting and get fixated on making something big. at the same time, smart business leaders are never close minded to new ideas. with that in mind, here's what never works: 1) sending a vague description about a big role in a big company backed by big investors. maybe attractive to some who want to ride a big wave. not motivating to me.2) asking for just N minutes for a short phone call to tell me about the opportunity. this really doesn't scale. if you're not willing or able to send me a specific description that can enable us to be time efficient, then it won't work out. i prioritize working with companies who hunger for efficiency.3) telling me how my profile fits your needs.for some reason, those 3 comprise the common playbook. but to me it screams "i [recruiter] really want to talk with you. i have a need you can fill. i won't spend the effort to meet your needs. but give me your time anyways."​what might work: "i see from your history that you love to do X. this company and role is a great match for that because...."​
