Promoting a deeper level of service in the Real Estate sales model is the beginning of relationship based on counsel. We started Copper West to facilitate a process using our connections and our ability to listen. Our team is well versed in this market and, most importantly, the people in this market from owners to brokers to property managers to carpenters. Argonaut Investments is the umbrella company for the projects owned by my business partner and I. We believe that in the next century, the logical model of business will not be industrial scale, but rather, "community scale." Finding the tools and paradigms to enable this shift will be a once in a lifetime opportunity.Our mission is "....To define, defend and develop small sustainable communities for the conservation economy." We own, or are partners in, Nisei, Llc, a development company, Copper West Properties, a Real Estate sales and management company, Oregon Growers and Shippers, a packaged food products company, and, until 2009 the two restaurants, Celilo and the Sixth Street Bistro. (The Sixth Street is sold and is now owned by Chris and Stacie Creasy, former employees of ours). We also provide early stage start up assistance to similar companies, particularly those in the "social-venture" category, focusing on rural and agrarian issues.

Cascade Restaurants owned the Sixth Street Bistro, a restaurant I founded in 1992 with a friend. In 1998 we radically altered our format by "going local" after auditing our waste streams from the restaurant. That positioned us to become one of the first restaurants in Oregon that people would call "Sustainable." We source local, spec our inbound packaging, recycle over 80% of anything that comes into the restaurant, and reuse elements of our production, most notably, oil from our fryers in our cars, etc.
