Executive Chef for SouthSide Roots Cafe - A Community Cafe serving Fresh, Local Cuisine & meeting the needs of community thru onsite fresh food market.• Expert knowledge of food and catering trends with a focus on quality (fresh, local, and in-season), production, portion control, sanitation, and food cost controls.• Participate in customer satisfaction programs/activities; including various Community Engagement of services offered.• Assess productivity levels of the cook line, dish area, and catering preparation during any given meal period.• Maintain a complete knowledge of Opening and Closing Procedures to assure efficient shift management.• Plan and price menu items, orders supplies, and keep records and accounts.• Responsible for daily, weekly, and monthly planning of business goals in conjunction with the Site Manager and Program Director.• Maintain familiarization with financial statements and their overall impact on profitability.• Responsible for interviewing, hiring and training employees; planning, scheduling, assigning and directing work; full cycle performance management; addressing complaints and resolving problems.• Work closely with the management team to identify and develop employees for future leadership roles.• Lead, manage, and influence a large, highly motivated team while delegating tasks and ensuring consistent follow-up.

- Responsible for quality control, preparation, presentation and execution of food so it is ready for service for main Cafe, Hospitality Centers and Central Production kitchens- Supervises, coordinates and participates in activities with other assistant sous chefs, cooks, food prep workers and other kitchen personnel involved in preparation, cooking, & serving of food in assigned area - Assist in the development of new menu items;- Leads and trains food service staff in production, preparation and garnishing techniques and enforces quality & food safety standards
