I am a chef of 25 years with a degree in journalism and a lifetime of professional writing and kitchen experience. I am currently copywriting for the content agency Stretch Creative in addition to working as a banquet chef at a nearby casino. Recently I held a position as the primary writer for a marketing group at a large commercial bakery. I was responsible for generating general culinary trend reports as well as reports based on specific customer requests. I’ve created content for and presented to national restaurant chains ranging from QSR to casual dining about topics such as what makes a dish Instagrammable, TikTok’s appeal and how you can leverage it, and digital tours exploring fried chicken and hamburgers from around the world that included my takes on dishes with methodology. I’ve also generated business analysis such as “The Science of Food Delivery,” “Best Covid Business Practices and Opportunities,” and “Dining Out Will Be Delivered In,” all of which resulted in significant customer engagement and illustrates that I can execute longer-form, multi-section content with verifying statistical data.While the bulk of my experience is marketing driven, I firmly believe it directly translates to traditional media and social media content as well. Who has more need for clearly written, timely, and accurate content than national chains making multi-million dollar decisions? It was my job to provide that content. In addition to my writing background, being a professional chef makes me a uniquely qualified culinary storyteller.
