Food has always been a big part of my life; whether be weekends, holidays or family gatherings, I was always excited more about the dishes that would be made on particular days than the day itself. Being raised in a small town in Punjab, India, the range of cuisines that were available to me were quite limited. Since childhood I was intrigued by the food shows and since the cooking shows were also quite limited when it came to Indian cuisine, I was always left to watch shows heavily based on French or Italian cuisines. The food and ingredients shown in the said shows were almost alien to me as a kid, but my curiosity to learn never stopped. As it led me to endeavour the journey to follow my dream of being inside a kitchen and which led me to leave my home and brought me here in Canada. I am still a novice when it comes to my experience in this industry but the sheer desire of mine to learn and be better than I was yesterday, is what I think matters the most.My mantra in life is to know what I don’t know and then thrive to be good at it.
