As a multi-hyphenate I have reveled in the myriad of roles afforded those of us who enter this field. From washing dishes in a small hotel to rolling sushi for guests in New York all the way to leading a diverse team as Executive Chef in a high end corporate environment. While the suggestion is always to highlight accomplishments and previous experiences I rather look forward to the great things to come in the roles I choose to place myself. I live off of a recently acquired adage, " do you want to be good or do you want to be great ". This is a simple question that I ask myself before every step I take, because it defines how I conduct myself and reach my goals (large and small).I am a chef. Such a simple statement that means so much more than cooking food, it means to lead. A chef is more than the person that creates beautifully crafted fare, we are the heart of the kitchen. Offering our all to our team, our customers and our craft is what we know. The success of our team shows our skill, the enjoyment (and in many cases amazement) of our guests shows our skill and the way in which we carry ourselves shows our commitment. I am a chef, because my experiences in life will not allow me to be anything else.
