From 11 October 2007 to the present time I worked for research project “Physical and chemical characterization of vacuum arc plasmas and their confinement”. This project is directly linked to the new IAP project entitled “Physical chemistry of Plasma-Surface Interactions” (PSI). The project, I am working on, concerns one type of plasma generation (vacuum arc). The investigations aim for multidisciplinary and integrated approach involving in in-situ plasma diagnostics of cathodic vacuum-arc plasma, electrical characteristics measurements, modeling of plasma, and in-depth characterization of the deposited layers including chemical and structural analysis. Studying correlation between on the one hand composition, structure, and functional properties and plasma characteristics on the other hand is one of the main goals of my work.
