I first realized that I was placed into a "bucket" by society around the age of five after I figured out that I preferred woman over men. Growing up I stayed in that bucket and didn't flourish as my full authentic self until I turned eighteen and had "officially" identified my sexuality. At that point I realized that there were others like me that felt like life experiences had been "snatched" away because of perspectives and ignorance. That's when I knew I wanted to make a difference, I just didn't know how. Until 2017... In 2017 my journey into the small/certified business community began. While I knew that there were several "buckets" that individuals could be placed into, I didn't really know what kind of advocacy was taking place behind the scenes to break down the barriers of those buckets. My tenure with IndyGo (2017-2022) is when I realized that my passion is in people. My passion is about making Indianapolis a more vibrant, fun, meaningful, authentic, diverse, inclusive, and equitable environment for businesses, residents, and visitors to be able to thrive. Lots of changes have occurred since 2017. I returned back to school to finish my Bachelor's degree in January 2021. When I went back, I completely changed my focus from Criminal Justice to Civic Leadership. I'm in route to graduate in May 2024. & In 2022 I was hired on as the Indianapolis Airport Authority's Supplier Diversity Program Manager of Business Equity and Opportunity - working alongside one of the most well-known and respected individuals I'm proud to know and call my friend, Holli Harrington. I absolutely enjoy meeting new people and hearing their stories.
