I monitor and regulate regulatory & compliance documentation on all parts of the beverage supply chain, following 21CFR. I assess and support our audits, corrective actions (CAs) and risk management of ingredients within ISO 9001, FDA, Dept of Agriculture, SQF, and other standards. I am required to maintain a working knowledge of and file submissions for local, state and federal regulations. I also support the label development of beverages following FDA, CFIA and international regulations. This is a collaborative role with internal sales, marketing, implementation, legal, and lab scientists as well as external customers and partners.

I currently consult on scientific projects, provide chemistry subject matter expertise, and edit scientific publications for foreign scientists on a contract basis. Clients & collaborations include:Freedom Learning Group: Chemistry Subject Matter Expert for educational content creation. - I authored, edited, assessed and transformed the digital content for 2 university level chemistry courses (General Chemistry & Organic Chemistry) as part of a team of subject matter experts. I also created worksheets for a math co-requisite for statistics course. Tallinn University of Technology: Technical editing and copywriting for scientific journal and textbook submissions. United States Embassy Kyiv, Ukraine

I managed over $3M of inventory, logistics, equipment, and resources for the diplomatic mission’s engineering security team utilizing a combination of software (CMMS), technical aptitude, organizational skills, and collaboration with Embassy personnel. The security team is responsible for the complete technical security of the mission structures in Kyiv, Ukraine and Minsk, Belarus. I am proud of completing an annual consumable inventory reconciliation valued over $1.3M within weeks of initial onboarding with a "significantly more accurate accounting" than in previous years. This position required a Top Secret Clearance.

United States Embassy Tallinn, Estonia

I served as the first point of contact for the diplomatic mission's security office at the US Embassy in Tallinn, Estonia and as a roving office manager for the embassy, including the executive (ambassadorial) section. I assisted security officers with all official correspondence, records compliance, VIP visits, embassy events and facility access. I indirectly supervised 3 employees and maintained timekeeping records for a staff of 10. This position required a Top Secret Clearance.

Louisville, Kentucky Area

I was a member of a 3-person laboratory team responsible for the technical development of new and proprietary resin products to glassmat nonwoven applications. In this position, I interacted with customers regularly for troubleshooting technical issues and as part of the development team for new products.Laboratory analysis included: TGA (Thermogravimetric Analysis), GC (Gas Chromatography), SEC (Size Exclusion Chromatography), FTIR (Fourier Transform Infrared Spectroscopy), DSC (Differential Scanning Calorimetry), Tensile (Instron), Contact Angle (Goniometer), Viscosity, Refractive Index, and various titrations.

After I was promoted to the Analytical Group I became responsible for the testing of beverage and raw material compounds at known and unknown levels utilizing GC, HPLC and UPLC to assist the Quality and Research & Development Groups. There was an emphasis on continuing education and development using operating manuals and reading literature covering concepts and theoretical principles of HPLC/GC. I attended Restek's "Comprehensive HPLC Seminar".

When I was promoted to Associate Scientist, I became responsible for efficient scheduling and coordination of submitted samples in the various quality labs, planning and oversight of the Bottler’s Lab and 2 Lab Techs, communicating releases of approved samples to the production facilities, making updates and changes in the laboratory information management system, and providing instrument support and maintenance in the quality labs for multiple types of instrumentsI successfully researched, developed and implemented a carbonation and density instrument transition throughout 9 US Cott facilities saving the company approx. $800K annually.I was also responsible for evaluating and reporting on new industry-specific instrumentation as it applied to the Quality Group at corporate and production level

I handled timely testing and approval of beverage concentrates, often with constantly shifting priorities and under strict turnaround times. I successfully researched, developed and implemented a new color measurement instrument for concentrate production support drastically decreasing production corrections.I was fully cross-trained in the Microbiology lab, Concentrate Quality lab, and the Raw Materials Quality LabTesting required included density / specific gravity measurement using densitometers, titrations using autotitrators, transmittance/absorbance using spectronic 20s and a colorimeter, refractive index, stability studies and particle size analysis using laser diffraction.
