NPNZ is the national professional body for Nurse Practitioners in New Zealand. I am on the executive committee and work on national projects, political policies and reducing barriers for NPs in New Zealand. I have been elected as the new Chair for NPNZ and will transition into this role in the second half of 2024.

I am currently the project lead for the establishment and the development of a national Nurse Practitioner mentorship programme and professional development platform for NPNZ and NPTP. The initial focus of this project has been to build a national mentorship programme to support newly qualified Nurse Practitioners while they are transitioning into clinical practice. Part of this project has created and delivered a national professional mentorship qualification for Nurse Practitioners, Doctors and healthcare leaders. This qualification enables the existing healthcare workforce to provide professional mentorship practice to either newly qualified Nurse Practitioners or future Nurse Practitioner candidates. The second part of this project is focused on building the foundation for a national professional development platform for the wider Nurse Practitioner workforce. This contracted project role works between The College of Nurses Aotearoa, Nurse Practitioners New Zealand and the University of Auckland.

I currently work as a locum rural Nurse Practitioner across general practice clinics and urgent care clinics and provide comprehensive healthcare in a autonomous and lead healthcare provider role.

I am currently working in the national Nurse Practitioner Training Programme at Victoria University of Wellington. This national programme is the final year of education for Nurse Practitioner candidates. This role also works collaboratively with national Nurse Practitioner Training Programme providers.

Leading implementation of PDRP into rural Primary Care workforce, developing new working streams, staff management, conflict management, budget management, advancing rural workforce roles and introducing specialist roles and new service streams, education manager.

Providing full spectrum of general practice health care to a rural population.

Working as an expert advisor & committee member for the MSD for the Work and Income for the national medical certification project.
