CurrentResponsibility for leading the communications for the NIHR Research Delivery Network (RDN) to ensure a high impact and positive reputation across the UK. • As the most senior communication expert in the organisation, provide advice and guidance to the RDN Board.• Leading communications for the transition and transformation from the Clinical Research Network to the RDN. • Lead, develop and deliver the NIHR RDN communication strategy in alignment with the NIHR strategy and objectives.• Manage the RDN central communications team across three locations to ensure the team is appropriately skilled and motivated to deliver to high standards of communications which is patient and public focused.• Matrix line management of the local network communication leads across England (c.25) to ensure delivery against national objectives and campaigns for local audiences and stakeholders.• Lead communications to researchers, external stakeholders and patients and the public about priority studies and the Be Part of Research.• Lead campaigns to plan and implement national campaigns aimed at recruiting patients to studies to improve health and care as well as drive staff involvement and career progression in research. • Establish a structured external communications strategy with a wide range of customers and stakeholders including the Department of Health and Social Care, NHS Trusts, patients and the public, clinicians, industry, regulatory bodies and authorities, to ensure a portfolio of appropriate communication tools to achieve the overall NIHR objectives.• Establish a structured internal communications culture and governance framework across the RDN and ensure the effective delivery of internal communications and RDN staff knowledge and understanding of key developments is thorough and up-to-date.• Be a brand custodian to ensure brand compliance across the main and sub-brands.
