As I start my senior year at Lakeland University, my excitement for growing further than the classroom offers expands. Even though I never thought it would be like this, my favorite branch of accounting is tax. As a student volunteer in Lakeland's VITA (Volunteer Income Tax Assistance) program, I have helped families prepare their tax return. I find it very rewarding to help others while also growing myself. While I have both classroom and hands-on experience in tax preparation, I would love to encounter tax planning. During the school year, I work as the assistant to the Accounts Payable Director where I help to record invoices to be paid at the end of the week through the use of the Jenzabar program. In past years, I have served as the Financial Director of the Student Government Association where I kept accurate and current records of balances and transactions. At the same time, I was elected to be the Chair of the Student Life and Interest Committee, whose job was to collaborate with other department leaders and club advisers in determining the next year's funding distributions.In my spare time, I enjoy spending time with my cat while watching movies and anime shows. Occasionally, I will teach myself a new song on my piano. I am a sociable person and prefer to be with friends and family whenever I can.Thank you!
