I bring my unique grant and program history that delves into several nonprofit specialties to each program development and grant writing/management relationship. My experience includes working directly with program participants, neighborhoods and communities, large local entities, and complex and demanding state and federal grants. It is my joy to help ease the grant writing and management burden for busy nonprofit executives, while helping them further their efforts.

Anticipated client needs, assembled plans of action and marketing strategies, and guided clients through the complex legal and financial processes of buying and selling. Marketed myself, tended to client relationships & managed transactions from start to finish. Provided referral, contractor and service resources during the sale of each home. Researched market trends and individual sales to leverage one of their most important financial assets.

Wrote development proposals and conducted award management support with staff. Coordinated & implemented grant compliance with project managers, CEO & leaders. Created systems to ensure finance records align with grant tracking and reporting. Advised school leaders and CEO on potential future programming funding, current grant budget status, and assisted with planning grant budgets 1-5 years out.

Directed makerspace programming, conducted maker trainings and meetings, wrote grant applications and maintained makerspace relationships. Collaborated with makers and staff to manage every day operations. Coordinated area developers, business owners, and funders around future area plans. Managed project budgets and program supply sourcing. Researched makerspace successes and held consultations for future planning and expansion.

Fostered a federal/city/nonprofit partnership into working teams with implementable projects and funding plans. Formed working committees and hired graduate assistant to synchronize 15+ years of community planning documents into a 5-year strategic investment plan. The plan eventually assisted the development corporation in realizing $50M+ of public and private investment on the targeted investment sites. It also helped secure $500K+ in program specific funding for community led projects.

Provided technical assistance and monitoring to 100+ grantees for $15M+ in annual entitlement CDBG funding for employment training, homeowner repair and summer youth grants. Managed a 3 person team that implemented the city's home-owner repair program (including clean energy upgrades). Coordinated CDBG funding alongside the State of Indiana EPA Superfund, helping the brownfields coordinator to do over $2M in contamination cleanup across several sites.Facilitated the use of the federal Community Development Block Grant on a $5M+ Recovery Act plan that has developed into senior housing and a high school redevelopment project. Boosted the city’s economic development loan/grant portfolio from 1 to 7 contracts, resulting in approximately 70 new jobs and $1.5M in new grants/loans. Converted the city’s block grant management tracking system to digital format during a hiring freeze and low staffing.

Provided grant administration assistance to Indianapolis community development corporations, community centers and nonprofits receiving Indianapolis CDBG funds. Approved grant claim payments through the federal entitlement grant disbursement process. Brought a year's worth of grant monitoring up to date in four months. Promoted to Manager of the City's largest federal grant four months after starting employment with the City of Indianapolis.

Coordinated geographic information systems (GIS) and county-specific geological data for Indiana and Illinois county pre-disaster mitigation reports to be submitted to the Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) and the Department of Homeland Security (DHS). Also facilitated the public involvement portion of the planning process.
