Profile bio

About Chelsea Litman Rn, Bsn, Ni-Bc, Pccn

15+ years working in service industry positions, 10+ years in Hospital-based Direct Patient Care.I'm a lifelong learner with diverse interests and an intense curiosity of how things work. With years of experience in various fields, I've found my niche in Nursing Informatics, where the worlds of Nursing, Education, & Information Technology collide. The best way I can describe my work is that I am always looking for ways to make complex (and sometimes intimidating) EHR software and peripherals more approachable and accessible to those who use it most. I believe documentation should be easy and seamless so that healthcare professionals can spend their time doing what they do best - caring for patients. My acute and critical care background gives me a unique perspective and understanding of nurse end-user needs, while my personal and professional IT experiences have given me the foundation to build upon for quickly learning new and emerging technologies. My various teaching experiences have enabled me to cultivate the communication skills needed to effectively convey changes and requests in a manner that bridges the gap between the two fields. To put it more succinctly - I translate Nurse-speak into IT Geek (and often vice-versa).On a personal level, I strongly believe in 'paying it forward'; my success is due in no small part to the mentors in my life who have fostered my professional growth, and I value carrying on that tradition with those that follow.

Listed skills include Microsoft Office, Editing, Writing, Research, and 5 others.
