I am an independent marine scientist with a focus on fish biology and fisheries management. I earned my Ph.D. in Biological Oceanography in 2016 while living and working in Puerto Rico. During this time, I co-founded a field course and marine research company, Isla Mar Research Expeditions, with my husband and fellow marine scientist. My research interests include fisheries management and conservation, marine protected area effectiveness, aquatic invasive species management, coral reef restoration, and the advanced training of future field scientists. I also have a side hustle as a graphic designer where I combine my scientific expertise with my design skills to produce content for environmental organizations and scientific professionals. Following the cue of the dynamic nature of science, I am always open to new collaborations and exploring new research interests in Puerto Rico, the Caribbean, and worldwide wherever my expertise can be applied. To view my current list of projects, please check out our Projects page on Isla Mar's website: www.islamar.org
