Working in a medical/acute unit in a rural setting. My LPN scope is enjoying the chance to work with complex medical patients along with a chance to discover labor and delivery. A drive to be disciplined and confident with bedside assessments and flexible to the dynamic patient flow.

Working with spinal cord injuries, strokes, and brain injuries on an inpatient neuro rehabilitation unit. Completing neuro assessments and tailored patient care. Medication and rehabilitation education ongoing. Collaborating with allied health to create suitable care plans for patients. Working not to full LPN scope as patients admitted to this unit should be medically stable to tolerate the rehabilitation schedule.

Helping adult community members sharpen their skills in literacy, communication and overall community integration strategies. I will be an instructor to help guide and inspire an enhanced sense of self confidence and pride in folks achieving their goals.

Another chapter written fulfilling my childhood dream of working in a kitchen. This local restaurant has celebrated a year in business and I began as a patron. I have started my company to advance my mission to help people acquire the tools and knowledge to live healthy lives. I offer advocacy to those navigating a medical journey. My knowledge offers support in how and why taking an assertive stance with their nutrition is a KEY to gaining momentum towards a thriving life. Individuals can seek support on cooking techniques, recipes, budgeting and exploring their personal relationship with food, their body image, and any other areas currently hindering their growth.My desire to address helping individuals that feel a lack of confidence in their community, relationships and their sense of self: I offer coaching and support in stress management, Reiki and energy work, leadership and assertive communication and behavior therapy.Everything that over a decade of healthcare experience and three decades of life experience- I am excited to step out on my own to be a healer and teacher to those who cross my path.

As my goal is to run my own business surrounding food one day - I thought a smart idea would be to get hired into a nationally recognized chain and receive real time work experience. My passion for cooking is being recognized and supported. I have been trained in the 7-11 store kitchen and am having a blast learning the Health Canada regulations and 7-11 protocol for ordering, cycling items and presenting the goods for customers. I appreciate this opportunity to learn commercial kitchen appliances, cleaning procedures, and operations. It is another affirmation that steps towards my independent business are where I will end up. Reaching Albertan's in the comfort of their home or via telephone/video to conduct pre-cannabis assessments, supporting patients referred from physicians and other prescribing practitioners. Helping connect patients to Licensed Producers and understand the products available and suggesting which may suit the best needs of the patient. Completing regular follow up care to ensure dosing and products are working to the patient's best interests. Being attentive to the restrictions of my LPN scope when it comes to cannabis legislation and knowing how to be a collaborating team member within a multi disciplinary team.I actively help create and share educational materials to promote Wayfare services and medical cannabis.I have the pleasure to participate in presenting to community members as well as professional groups regarding medical cannabis and Wayfare services.

Performs initial and ongoing nursing assessments of clients focusing on their emotional, physical, and mental health. This includes identifying pre-existing health conditions and offering clinical pathways for clients to access health services;In collaboration with the Health Services Team, develops and implements client centred care and housing plans with appropriate intervention measures that will have an impact on the client's health condition, safety, as well as ultimate recovery;Ensures the ongoing provision of client care in accordance with the approved care and housing plan;Monitors client's response to interventions and responds accordingly to any deviations from expected outcomes;Provides support with screening clients for COVID-19 as they enter The DI buildings;Responds to medical emergencies and assists as needed which may include the administration of oxygen and/or administration of Naloxone (authorized prescriber order required).Performs other related tasks (within scope of practice) as assigned by the designated Health Coordinator and/or the Directors of The DI.

Being a leader to aide patient's and medical professionals with their medical cannabis needs! Providing community education and engagement to Canadians (currently excluding Quebec) including the public and professionals. I will continue to assist patients with choosing their licensed producer and recommending medical cannabis products. I will complete follow up assessments and work within an inter-professional team to ensure the highest quality of care is being provided. As the Senior Care Coordinator it will also be within my role to mentor and aide nurses filling in Care Coordinator roles. We will focus on explaining the various products on the market and teach patients how to properly incorporate them with their other medical regimes. I am looking forward to building more professional relationships with other cannabis professionals as well as Government bodies to maintain my fluency with policies, procedures and products. This role will also allow me to participate in conferences and other professional development opportunities. I taught a theory class, skills lab and clinical with practical nursing students. I was also involved with health care aides during clinical. What a gift to be apart of people's learning journey. To watch the excitement and love for nursing grow within someone, such a gift! I learned so much from my students, realigned my grounding in nursing and recognizing my commitment to help others share their passion in the medical field. This position kept me humble and open to polishing off knowledge threads and skills that had been dormant in my Neuro role. Many students still keep in touch and I am such a "proud mama duck" to know many are Licensed professionals now!
