My name is Chelsey Tekavec and as a Multimedia Journalism major graduating at Florida Atlantic University on August 9th, 2016. I absolutely love to write and report, but my love is for the focus on sports. My dream would be to do sideline reporting for professional sports teams such as baseball, basketball games or football. I have experience in front of the microphone as well as behind the scenes work and in direct production.I am so interested in sports due to always being an athlete. I played beach volleyball at Florida Atlantic University for two years and played indoor volleyball two years prior. My first year of college I went to Valparaiso University, which is a very small division one school near Chicago. I am originally from Cleveland, Ohio and wanted to stay close to home my first year to see if I could do being away from my family. My family is my everything, but I knew being away would make me grow up very fast. After a year of being five hours from home I believed I could take care of myself enough to go farther away. I knew I was possibly going to see my family less but I had to follow my dreams. My dream every since I was little was to go to college and play a sport in warm weather. I wanted to be in warm weather all the time and near a beach. When I got offers from Florida schools I knew I had to get my release and pack my bags. Going to Florida Atlantic was the best decision I ever made. I have two sisters, Kristi who is 21 and Dena who is 18. Being the oldest I helped motivate my sisters to follow their dreams and push to be the best they could be. Both of my sisters now are at FAU on the indoor beach volleyball team. My hobbies are doing things that will make me a better person. Report For Football Games And The Television Show For Athletes At FauFlorida Atlantic University Athletics Jan 2013 - Jul 2016Boca Raton, FlI had my own show called OWL 360 where I worked with athletes off the camera and helped them get out of their comfort zone. When it came to on the camera work, I not only interviewed athletes on what is going on around campus but I was able to get to know students around campus. I enjoyed getting students involved with athletes and getting a larger fan base for athletics. We have created a foundation here where the athletes really get to know students on campus and interact with one another. We inform campus when and what things are going on so we can get to know one another and the students can feel closer to athletes by the support they receive.

It was a lot of quick memorizing lines, writing articles, smiling a whole lot and an incredible amount of stress, therefore it is perfect for me!I know this is the field for me because when I get on that camera I feel relaxed and ready to motivate whoever is listening!
