I can say with the utmost certainty, that the State of the Internet report was so highly respected, was because of the work that Chelsea did with the data behind it. Her attention to detail, and critical thinking, allowed us to really get to the heart of what the data was saying (or not saying), and work to tell a story that was factual, data-backed, and compelling - which is no easy feat in the information security world. The report was an industry leading publication, directly due to the Chelsea's analysis of the data. She's an asset to any team, and has a wealth of knowledge to draw from." and "Chelsea was a vital part of the team responsible for Akamai's State of the Internet Security report. The SOTI, as we called it internally, was an industry leading report that in large part owes it's success to her efforts to understand the data, provide clean data, and give cogent analysis of where it came from and meant. All too often a large part of her time was spent cleaning less than stellar data in order to produce something that was accurate, repeatable, and, most importantly, truthful.
Our shared commitment to being truthful with data is one of the defining characteristics of our relationship. She was consistently able to provide the information and graphics for our reporting needs. She often had to learn new data sources with little guidance She had to deal with derivatives of some of the biggest log repositories in the world, changing processes that made access hard, and teams that needed to be lead to consensus in order to provide that data. When that didn't work, she knew how to ask for help to make things happen.
I miss working with Chelsea, both as a person and as an employee. She is highly capable and will do great things in the future.
