Investigated the function of beta-3-tubulin in a mouse model of a rare human genetic neurological disorder, Tubb3 syndrome. Employed comparative histo-pathological methods to phenotype mutant animals. Explored visualization of orbit morphology. Examined of extraocular nerve-muscle relationship by IHC and confocal and 2-photon imaging.Initiated a collaborative work on peripheral nerve regeneration, used in vivo and in vitro techniques to study the mechanism under injury condition.Managed transgenic mouse lines and troubleshot mouse genetics problems in the creation and maintenance of the line.

Investigated a molecular pathway in neural stem cell maintenance. Reported for the first time a novel mechanism of neural stem cell regulation by axon guidance molecule Ephrin-B with its nuclear co-factor. Identified a transcription factor as direct signaling mediator of membrane-bound Ephrin-B. Employed molecular and cellular methods, biochemical techniques and animal model approaches.Developed in utero electroporation in the lab, a new technique to introduce exogenous protein(s) or RNA interference into developing mouse tissues.
