I am currently involved in writing a research paper for LKC to model the effects of climate change on the dengue burden of countries around the world using meteorological and geospatial data.• Executed advanced geospatial data cleaning, transformation, and statistical analysis using R and Python, significantly enhancing research outcomes• Developed and trained GAMs to accurately forecast excess dengue burden, performing comprehensive model evaluation and retraining to ensure high model accuracy• Generated robust density forecasts, leveraging bootstrapping techniques to create synthetic data and quantify model uncertainty• Gained valuable insights into the research process, including hypothesis formulation, data collection, contributing to evidence-based research

As part of NUS Overseas College Programme, I was given the opportunity to work at a fast moving retail start up in Vietnam as a Data Analyst Intern. Some of my duties included:- Created data models using PostGreSQL based on GitLab tickets to allow for greater automation of business processes such as generating finance income statements, increasing work efficiency- Pioneered multiple scalable data pipelines for Amazon fulfilment process using data from its platforms, now deployed in 90% of transactions on Amazon- Developed data visualization and analytics presentations for company projects and support business decisions using 70% of allotted time- Enhanced algorithm used to acquire customer delivery information, reducing the number of failed deliveries due to wrong address by 60%Through these 3 months internship overseas, I have also managed to pick up other soft skills such as effective communication and interpersonal skills which will help me greatly when working in a team environment (even international ones)

While waiting for university to begin, I was contracted as a compliance officer for 6 months to help the team with their duties. This included:- Conducted routine KYC checks such as transaction reviews, credit reviews, triggering events on over 100 entities- Initiated creation of Excel Macros using VBA to improve efficiency and reduce time spent on repetitive tasks- Obtained data used for analytics project to help identify possible indicators of ML/TF activities for more than 20 entitiesDuring my short stint at the company, a notable achievement is that I took the initiative to help improve efficiency by developing Excel Macros and VBA to help with repetitive tasks. This includes automatically picking out transactions to be reviewed and creating a drop-down list of standardized responses which helped streamline review processes.

During National Service, not only was I able to perform duties required, I was also able to assist my superiors in tasks such as:1. Overall IC for all 3SG in the unit2. Drafting slides for AOP (Approval of Plan) by Commanders3. Liaising between military and civilian personnel for both logistics and administrative matters4. Assisting with unit’s auditing effortsAs a testament to my efforts during National Service, I was given ‘Excellent’ for Conduct which is only awarded to the top 3SG of every batch in the unit.
