The year I came out of grad school (2012), content marketing just became a thing. We now live in a world of endless marketing possibilities. Paid search, because it's measurability, targetability and its demand driven nature, is a channel where these rules are easier to implement. Ex. I find just by adhering to the 80/20 rule alone, I can significantly improve performance and optimize time spent on 'managing accounts' 'chasing shining objects' vs. 'delivering value to the business'. I also find simplicity helps matrix partners and business leaders understand me. This is important because effective communication is the prerequisite for effective cross team collaboration and what I enjoy most at work is the ability to actively contribute to my organization's overall marketing and business strategy by working with other passionate colleagues.
