As a Language Instructor at Brent, my job was to teach English | Russian as a Second language to Korean students. This experience is quite special for me since it gave me an opportunity to meet so many people from different walks of life - from Public Servants to High-Seat Ministers, from Nuclear Engineers to CEOs, I had hundreds of hours of phone conversations that helped me to polish my communication skills. I learned how to ask the right questions, how to speak less and listen more, how to build trust and comfort people over the phone, and of course how to help them communicate effectively in a foreign language.

After I failed with my startup I was burned out. I lost my sense of purpose and direction and was pretty much incapacitated for good 2 weeks. But then a friend of mine recommended I try writing about my experiences, and I thought, "Hell, why not." I picked up a 30-days challenge. The idea was to publish 30 essays in 30 days. I ended up writing 43. The first 42 flew completely under the radar, but my 43rd got thousands of views. People from all over the world started reaching out to me. It was my tipping point. Shortly after, I again decided to challenge myself. Now with the book. 600 days of bleeding through fingertips and 4 iterations after "The Meditations of the Millennial" was born. It is a book of what I learned in my first 29 years on this planet. The book is published for free on Medium.com

After I finished my Masters I knew that Canada changed me, and I have to move on and explore the world. The first option that worked out was a Ph.D. program in South Korea. My Ph.D. was technically (and officially) a full-time job as a Research Assistant. During 4 years I was polishing my research skills, learning how to process loads of information and work with data, and traveling around my historical homeland in my free time.Some of the things I'd been doing as a member of Smart Hybrid Materials Lab:• Conducted studies and literature searches using an internet database, analyzing and summarizing various data on smart hybrid materials.• Actively participated in the discussion of the project results with the research supervisor every week and collaborated with other members to address issues in the field of research.• Conducted fundamental and applied research within the scope of individual project “Fabrication of manganese oxide and zinc oxide mesoporous materials for supercapacitor and solar cell applications.”• Conducted research to develop, evaluate, and improve graphene oxidation and exfoliation methods within the project “Exfoliation of graphene via chemical oxidation.”• Participated in interdisciplinary research and development of the project “Resorcinol-formaldehyde gel-based porous carbon materials”.• Collected and analyzed results from independently designed experiments using Scanning Electron Microscopy, Thermogravimetric Analysis, Differential Scanning Calorimetry, UV-vis absorption spectroscopy, BET adsorption method, etc.

My visa expired, and I came back home from Canada to continue my education. I've started my MS Degree at KBTU and at the same time securing a position of Jr. Research Fellow at Bekturov Institute of Chemical Sciences.
