Physical Design Engineer
Santa Clara, Ca, Us
The Physical Design team is responsible for final physical implementation of every one of Nvidia's cutting-edge GPUs and SoCs, taking each design from netlist to silicon.• Developed, maintained, and supported a Magma Talus-based physical design flow for the implementation of a high performance, next generation SoC, actively used by ~40 engineers• Acted as a key point of contact between methodology and implementation teams, providing in-depth tool and flow knowledge, as well as addressing and rectifying flow deficiencies• Excelled as the lead physical design engineer on a L2 cache unit, applying strong working knowledge of core layout/floorplanning principles, power gating, and multi-hierarchy design• Successfully designed and taped out 14 place-and-route partitions in a cutting-edge GPU project, interfacing with timing and DRC/LVS teams• Continually developed Perl and Tcl scripts to automate and improve design flow and methodology to achieve faster run time, better quality of results, and overall increased productivity of entire group
