I have ten years of R&D experience in Networking and Distributed High-Performance Computing. I received my PhD in Computing Science from University of Alberta. Recently, I joined Microsoft as a Network Architect focusing on Data Center Networking and SDN. Previously, I worked as a Research and Development Scientist at UtopiaCompression focusing on researching/developing new technologies for wired/wireless/mobile systems. Recently, my contributions were recognized by IEEE-Eta Kappa Nu honor society.At UtopiaCompression, I have led and contributed to multiple projects by designing, implementing and validating SDN-based cross-layer protocol design for next-generation satellite networks, agnostic protocol translation for cross-domain communication, and network optimization mechanisms for dynamic mission-driven traffic prioritization. I obtained a provisional patent on Agnostic Protocol/Waveform Translation as the leading inventor. This technology was published at MILCOM'13, and was selected and demonstrated at the Joint Interagency Field Experimentation Program. Before 2012, I worked as a Research Assistant at University of Alberta and researched new technologies in optimal resource management for large-scale networks; developed a novel network framework and protocols to make the best use of underlying physical layer technologies; improved user experience by intelligently optimizing radio resources and battery consumption; and enabled applications to efficiently utilize network resources via optimization. My achievements were published at numerous top IEEE/ACM venues. During my PhD, I received multiple scholarship and awards.
