Under the direction of the Fire Chief, I am responsible for the overall planning, organizing, and direction of the execution of day-to-day operations, particularly toward the primary mission of Emergency Response, of the Golden Gate Fire Protection District. I supervise the three Lieutenants who in turn supervise the line membership of the fire department, and am accountable for the operational members of the department and response to emergency incidents and other day to day operations. I additionally perform strategic planning and preparation for incidents in partnership with our resources and partner agencies, including preparation of aid plans, incident run cards, and preplans for key target hazards within the district. I am responsible to supervise complex incidents as an incident commander or section/branch/division at large incidents; including structure fires, technical rescues, and wildland fires with type 4 and type 5 incidents, and qualification toward type 3 incidents.I am additionally responsible for the management of the fleet of nearly a dozen emergency vehicles, management of physical inventory and assets, and procurement of much of our equipment.
