As the VP of Genomic Technology and Algorithm at GeneDx, I lead the research developing cutting-edge solutions for genomic analysis and diagnosis. With over 10 years of experience in the biotechnology industry, I have a strong background in bioinformatics, systems biology, and data science.I am passionate about applying artificial intelligence and machine learning to genomics and other scientific application, and I have contributed to multiple publications in prestigious journals such as Nature and Nature Biotechnology. At my previous role as the Senior Director of Research and Deep Learning in Genomics at DNAnexus, I established a new research team and demonstrated cloud-based applications for genome-wide association studies (GWAS) and image processing using the UK Biobank dataset. I also developed a novel machine learning method for converting binary traits to quantitative traits to boost statistical power for GWAS. My mission is to leverage the power of cloud computing and AI to advance genomic medicine and improve human health.
