I aspire to work with nature, animals and wildlife, particularly in the field of protecting nature for the generations to come. This is even more important in the marine environment, when research, conservation and restoration of corals, seagrass beds and mangroves tend to lag behind that of terrestrial habitats, even despite their massive potential for accumulating Blue Carbon and for natural recovery, for incorporation in Nature-based Solutions. This need in Singapore and the Southeast Asian region is even more dire, in light of the worsening of Climate Change, even as the region continues to develop at a break-neck speed. In Singapore, I have attained experience in various environmental-related sectors: marine biology research, experimental research, conservation, organising and participating in scientific conferences, eco-tourism and environmental consultancy. I enjoy and continue to work with people from various backgrounds though my role in DHI as an Environmental Consultant, as I aim to make ecology and the importance of the EIA process and the development of nature-based solutions relatable and clear to my clients. I hope to continue being at the forefront of the technologies and ideological advances that strike a balance between development and environmental protection.
