ProfessionalWith over 25 years of experience in energy policy and programs, I currently work for the Sacramento Municipal Utility District (SMUD) as Supervisor for the Residential Efficiency & Electrification Delivery Team. My team implements programs that help Sacramento-area households and businesses save energy, money, and the environment. I came to this position after working in the program planning group for almost 8 years. Prior to SMUD, I helped develop energy efficiency, renewable energy, and greenhouse gas reduction policies at the California Energy Commission and the Air Resources Board.I also serve on the board of directors for Breathe California of Sacramento. Other PassionsOne of my missions in life is to encourage others to compost, thus restoring valuable nutrients to the soil and avoiding the needless filling of landfills (and the resulting greenhouse gasses). I am also actively involved in the development of an eco-community and Permaculture farm in Costa Rica called Alazan (www.alazancostarica.com)
