CurrentAn energy reduction war, a crusade against kilowatts, a barrage against BTU's. The Michigan Battle of the Buildings is endorsed by the EPA & the State of Michigan with partners including Consumers Energy, DTE Energy, Wege Foundation, EGLE, Hedrick Associates, Detroit Lions & more (see website for full list). Celebrating 10 years, the competition includes more than 1,100 buildings representing over two hundred and sixty million square feet (260,000,000 ft2) of commercial & industrial building space all battling it out to see who can cut the most BTU's over the course of 1 year. Stories will be told, lessons will be learned and fun will be had by all. With good spirited competitors including FCA Chrysler, University of Michigan, Steelcase, Corewell Health, General Motors, Comerica Banks, Fifth Third Banks & More (see website for full list) we are bringing high quality education, displaying local leadership and learning from our peers right here in our own backyard.The annual Michigan Energy Summit recognizes the 'Biggest Losers' and welcomes new competitors.
