Cheri Meyer, Vice President and COO for the nonprofit Investor Protection Trust (IPT), is a dedicated, high energy nonprofit executive with 25+ years’ experience leading the operations of national mission-driven organizations and implementing successful educational programs at the national, state and grass roots levels.Cheri joined the Investor Protection Trust, a nonprofit organization devoted to investor education, in August 2004. Founded in 1993, the Investor Protection Trust works at the national, state and community level to provide the independent, objective investor education needed by all Americans to make informed investment decisions. Cheri directs IPT’s operations and oversees all educational programs including partner engagement, project design, education and outreach materials, fundraising and sponsorship activities. Cheri’s achievements at IPT include: direction of the Elder Investment Fraud and Financial Exploitation (EIFFE) Prevention Program Medical and Legal, the Campaign for Wise and Safe Investing in partnership with the AARP Foundation, and the When I’m 65 Documentary and Engagement program in partnership with Detroit Public Television. Cheri also worked partnership with Kiplinger’s Personal Finance to develop a variety of investor education booklets including seven foundation investor education booklets, the “Financial Field Manual” for military families and retirees and a set of five action guides for investors at every life stage.Prior to IPT, Cheri was program director at the American Savings Education Council (ASEC) where she led the development and administration of financial education campaigns and programs throughout the U.S.Cheri holds a Bachelor of Arts in economics from the University of the District of Columbia. She lives in Washington, DC with her husband Scott.
