This year… 2016-17 will be dedicated to changing our services also:1.We will be adding an Adult Day Health Care (ADHC) which means we will be accepting Medi-Cal2.Our services will all remain the same as we are now…providing continuing supportive for the caregiver, emergency respite and scholarships, support groups, individual and family counseling, education and training, transportation, the eldercare resource center and the Adult Day Programming…but we will be adding Health Care. This means that anyone 18 years and older who cannot stay home alone will have all their health needs taken care of by our Registered Nurse who will work with your personal physician. We will also have a licensed Social Worker, Activity Coordinator and access to a Physical Therapist, Occupational Therapist, Speech Therapist, Dietician, and Psychiatric Therapist. All your Medi-Cal covered benefits will be taken care of in one place…Valley Adult Day Services. How cool is that for the caregiver? We have a long way to go…and will need support. We need to raise money through grants; fundraisers; partnerships; and investors to re- license our building for the American Disability Act (ADA), which means big construction costs; and we also have to have the funds to pay all our employees for a possible 3 month period before we are actually licensed to open as an AHDC. First Job..Actually, in San Diego Don Callendar made me their first Manager of the front of the store because the restaurants... still small pie shops were just in the process of adding some soups, salads and sandwiches. They needed to organize their services to help speed up the flow of customers.
