  Soldiers' Angels

  2007 - Present

  I write to deployed and wounded soldiers and their families, as well as, sending them essential personal care items and gifts. Sadly, I have also attended funerals and supported loved ones during their time of sorrow and need. I have made it a point to travel to their hometowns upon their return from active duty and meet them and their families personally. My travels have taken me to Pennsylvania, Oklahoma, Texas, Georgia, Alabama, Kentucky and Tennessee. On one trip I logged over 2500 miles in one week to see my soldiers and their families. All my soldiers refer to me as 'Mom' and many of them continue to stay in contact after they have returned home. Additionally, I have taken a special interest in making 'fleece blankets' for their children. In return, I have received gifts from all over the world and have a large loving extended family.
