Tay Chern Hui has been an Executive Artist with Singapore Press Holdings for 16 years. He startedin Streats, Singapore’s first free commuter newspaper, in 2000. He moved on to The StraitsTimes, Singapore’s largest newspaper, and was in the Art department from 2004 to 2016. In 2017,he was seconded to The New Paper as Graphic Editor.He joined Streats as an artist doing news layout. His brand of visual journalism blossomedwhen he was posted to The Straits Times and he won numerous awards over the years. Heresearched and created infographics based on news, science topics and movies. He was also incharge of the covers for the Digital Life and Mind Your Body magazines, many of which wonawards. He also helped to supervise the Art desk, and created a system where artists could bringforward their ideas, significantly increasing the output of the desk.
